Wings and Waves Birding Festival

May 1-3, 2009
The Audubon Society of Lincoln City, in conjunction with the Lincoln City VCB, presents its inaugural "Wings and Waves" Birding Festival.

This family friendly, fun-filled weekend boasts kayak birding trips, a $500 bird count contest, silent auctions, an art exhibit featuring "All Things Bird", lectures from world renowned nature experts, the building of the world's largest birds nest and much, much more!

Fish Taco Cook-Off

In honor of "Cinco de Mayo" join us during this GREEN EVENT where Chefs from throughout Oregon will compete to take home the title: Best Fish Taco. The competition will be judged by three judges on taste, creativity, technique, appearance, consistency and overall presentation.

This annual event begins at 11am and wraps up at 2pm. Cost at the door is FREE! (a token amount is charged for tastes)

Located at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City at 801 SW HWY 101, on the Fourth Floor. We're above the Driftwood Public Library, and Lincoln City's City Hall.

Mutt Masters

May 16, 2009

Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics is an annual "for fun" dog show which benefits doggie related causes in Oregon. This year's proceeds will benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and "Curing Canine Cancer" a non-profit out of Portland, Oregon. The 2009 Mutt Masters Dog Show and Olympics will be held at 1545 SE 50th in Lincoln City. Click here to visit the event website.

Art Sea Festival

June 12- 14, 2009
This year we celebrate the arts with a new spin on Lincoln City's classic Plein Air Art Festival! With art workshops scheduled for Friday, June 12that the Lincoln City Cultural Center and a two-day all-medium street fair held on SW 51st in the Historic Taft District on June 13th & 14th, the Lincoln City Art Sea Festival offers something for everyone.

The weekend outdoor street fair will include an interactive tessellation exhibit, recycled castle construction, a professional street painter; Tracy Lee Stum, Sky Lanterns, vendors from across the Pacific Northwest, music, food, caricatures, and fun for the whole family! Event proceeds from the Art Sea street Fair befit the Children's Cancer Association and Relay for Life team Lincoln City.

We are still inviting all of our Plein Artists back for a "Quick Draw" contest on Saturday, June 13th.

Summer Kite Festival

June 27 & 28, 2009
Lincoln City, named by Kitelines Magazine as one of the best places to fly kites in North America, celebrates with three kite festivals each year, two outdoors and one indoors. Situated on the 45th parallel, Lincoln City is positioned at the ideal point for mixing warm equatorial air and cold polar air, which creates ideal winds for outdoor flying. In addition, the clean air flowing directly off the ocean is preferred by kite flying experts, and novices will see a difference in their abilities as well. The Glass Float Gala

October 17, 2009
The Glass Float Gala will be held Saturday evening. This event kicks off the placement of 2010 hand-crafted, signed and numbered glass floats on the beaches of Lincoln City from October 17, 2009 through Memorial Day 2010. Enjoy International cuisine, entertainment and a signature Lincoln City Glass float to take home. Tickets sales begin after Labor Day 2009 and dress is semi-formal. Check back often for more information.

Glass Galore Art Show

October 17 & 18, 2009
Glass Artists from the Pacific Northwest will be displaying, demonstrating and selling their glass art to include etched, fused, stained, hand-blown, sculpted and slumped glass during this show. Chowder Cook-Off

The comfort food of the Oregon coast, prepared by some of the best chefs in the state, will be yours for the tasting at the Lincoln City Chowder Cook-Off on November 14, 2009 at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City.

The Culinary Center in Lincoln City is located at 801 SW Hwy 101, on the 4th Floor. We're above the Driftwood Public Library, and Lincoln City's City Hall.

During this GREEN EVENT, Chefs from throughout Oregon will compete to take home one of two titles: Best Clam Chowder and Best Signature Seafood Dish. The competition will be judged by three judges on taste, creativity, technique, appearance, consistency and overall presentation.

This annual event begins at 11AM and wraps up at 2PM. Cost at the door is FREE! (a token amount is charged for tastes)

Mardi Gras Jambalaya Cook-Off

Jambalaya, one of the Creole Cookery's hallmarks, varies widely from cook to cook. It always contains rice, however a variety of other ingredients may be found including tomatoes, onions, green peppers and almost any kind of meat, poultry or fish.

During this GREEN EVENT, Chefs from throughout Oregon will compete to take home the title: Best Jambalaya. The competition will be judged by three judges on taste, authenticity, creativity, technique, appearance, consistency and overall presentation.

Amateur & Professional Divisions!

Located at the Culinary Center in Lincoln City at 801 SW HWY 101, on the Fourth Floor. We're above the Driftwood Public Library, and Lincoln City's City Hall.

This event is open from 11am-2pm. Admission is free, with tasting sized portions available for a small fee, in the Professional category only. Amateur Chili will not be offered for tasting (due to Oregon Health Code).

During this GREEN EVENT, Amateur chefs will compete to take home one of two titles: "Best Traditional Red Chili" or "Best Anything Goes Chili". Professional chefs will compete to take home the title for "Best Traditional Red Chili". The competition will be judged on taste, authenticity, creativity, technique, appearance, consistency and overall presentation.

Indoor Kite Festival

March 26-28, 2010
Oregon's premier Indoor Kite Festival is in Lincoln City. Yes, it's true. If you have the right kite and know how to do it, you can fly kites indoors without wind---and have great fun even if the weather outside is frightful! So everyone can enjoy this great sport, Lincoln City is bringing expert indoor kite fliers from all over the country to demonstrate the art and teach kids of all ages how to soar without wind. Great Oregon Coast Garage Sale

April 16-18, 2010
The City of Lincoln City promotes the annual "Great Oregon Coast Garage Sale", an annual community wide garage sale with over 100 individual and organizational garage sales. Sales will be combined with "insidewalk" sales throughout the city to give everyone a greater shopping experience.

The Greater Newport Chamber and Central Oregon Coast Association will join forces with Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau to promote citywide garage sales in their towns during the same weekend. Look for sales throughout Lincoln County; church groups, neighborhoods, and individuals with great deals. FMI 1-800-452-2151.
